WHY GET MARRIED IN MEXICO? - TALKING DESTINATION WEDDINGS IN PARADISE

Congratulations! You’re engaged! When the butterflies take a break you’ll probably be wondering what comes next. It’s wedding planning time! There’s a lot to consider, from a backyard DIY celebration or a home-based venue event to a once-in-a-lifetime destination wedding at your favorite spot on the globe. All come with advantages and disadvantages (we’ll talk budget later!), but we wanted to take a moment to let you know why a destination wedding in Mexico should be at the top of your list!

Mexico is the country of LOVE!

We all know that the media sensationalizes. The news we receive is the worst of the worst. It happens all over the globe, but we’re here to tell you that Mexico is the country of LOVE! You’ll meet friendly and generous people who are hard-working and here to serve. In Mexico, we pride ourselves on delivering quality and personalized service to everyone who visits our destination.

A destination wedding in Mexico can reduce your costs!

Now, this depends! Generally speaking a destination wedding in Mexico will reduce your guest list, as school semesters, babysitting costs, and travel expenses may mean some guests cannot attend. Your guest list goes down, and so do your expenses. It also depends on the destination. Luxury destinations such as Los Cabos incur elevated prices (sometimes more so than in the US), and areas such as Chiapas, Oaxaca, and Sayulita offer very flexible overall rates. It’s about picking a destination that speaks to your heart. At Raw Media Creative we travel! Whatever your final destination we are ready and waiting to capture your moments.

It’s an easy flight!

For those on the West Coast Los Cabos is a quick, easy, and direct flight. For those on the East Coast, the Riviera Maya (Cancun, Tulum, and Playa del Carmen) are easily accessible. Local wedding planners are bilingual and well-versed in destination wedding planning, and many of your vendors will likely be ex-pats living the dream in paradise!

Vendors and staff are almost always bilingual…

Planning a destination wedding from afar is a daunting task, not to mention the language barrier! If you don’t speak Spanish, it isn’t a problem. Location staff, vendors, and travel agents are all bilingual and willing to communicate in English so your planning process is as smooth as possible. If you come across a vendor that doesn’t speak English, they will always have a staff member on hand to translate and take care of you.

The Sunsets!

Not much we need to say here. Mexican sunsets are among some of the best in the world, which means amazing photographs, gasps from guests, and a great time for all. We get to enjoy it on the daily, but for some, this is a once-in-a-lifetime experience they won’t easily forget.

Many ask the question - is Mexico safe?

The answer is 100% yes! The same general rule applies to all travel. Take care of your movements and stick to tourist areas, don’t go rogue! If you wouldn’t be withdrawing cash at home at 3 AM we don’t recommend you do that here. Otherwise, you are completely safe. Mexico prides itself on respecting tourists, as it is one of our country’s primary sources of income.

Where do we think you should get married?

Hey, we are totally open! From Europe to South America, and Australia to Mexico, the team at Raw Media Creative is with you every step of the way. That being said, we hold a special place in our hearts for the country that we have called home for many years. We’ll talk more in future posts about the amazing wedding planners we love to work with, but in the meantime, we welcome you to Mexico and can’t wait to shoot your wedding.

One Love - Gary
